Buying a home in Central Oregon is exciting, but it’s even better when you start off on the right foot.

The first step is simple: get pre-approved. Think of it like getting your backstage pass. Pre-approval tells you exactly what you can afford and shows sellers you’re serious. Without it, you’re just standing in line hoping to get in. I work closely with local Oregon loan brokers to get you the best deal.

That doesn’t mean you can’t start having fun. Browse listings online, hit up open houses, and get a feel for what’s out there. And don't forget to drive by! That’s how you figure out what’s important to you.

When you finally find a home you love, the key is making a strong offer. And no, that doesn’t always mean the highest price. It means writing an offer that’s backed by real market data. If similar homes in Redmond are selling around a certain price point, your offer should reflect that. Sellers notice when buyers have done their homework, it makes them more likely to take you seriously.

As for what happens after your offer gets accepted, that’s a whole journey on its own. Title, inspections, repair requests, funding… it’s a lot. Don’t worry, I’ll be breaking that down in an upcoming Contract to Close series so you’ll know exactly what to expect.
